Redemption in Gqeberha: SAES Round 2 Recap

Redemption in Gqeberha: SAES Round 2 Recap

After a tough start to the season at Zwartkops, where both entries from Samlin Racing suffered a double DNF, the team arrived in Gqeberha for Round 2 of the SA Endurance Series with one goal in mind: redemption. And that’s exactly what we delivered.

The Liqui Moly Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo Evo set the pace from the start. In both the Sport & GT category and the 1 Hour Dash, the car dominated, taking P1 in both races. The performance was everything we knew the Huracán was capable of: sharp, consistent, and powerful. A key contributor to this success was the trusted support and cutting-edge products from Liqui Moly.

This weekend, we ran Liqui Moly’s 10W60 Synthoil Race Tech GT1 oil, a high-performance product built for the extreme demands of endurance racing. The oil provided outstanding thermal stability, top-tier wear protection, and consistent performance under high load, ensuring the car stayed strong right to the chequered flag. From the workshop to the winner’s circle, the partnership with Liqui Moly continues to be a cornerstone of our racing efforts.

Meanwhile, the MKT Tactical Polo faced its own share of drama early in the weekend. A mechanical failure on Saturday morning left the car sidelined, and an emergency engine swap was the only option. The team dug deep, turned wrenches under pressure, and got the Polo back on track just in time. Starting from pit lane, the MKT Polo charged through the field and delivered an incredible result—P1 in Class C and P11 overall.

It was a massive turnaround and a true show of grit, resilience, and sheer teamwork. A big thank you to MKT Tactical for their continued support in helping us stay sharp and prepared for anything.

Round 2 reminded us all why we race. It’s about the setbacks, the comebacks, and the relentless pursuit of performance. Thank you to every crew member, partner, and supporter who made this weekend one to remember.

We’re just getting started.
